About Supamatic

Hi, we're Amy and Dan

We're husband-and-wife creatives, artists, brand builders and small business coaches based in Devon.

As neurodiverse creatives, most of our careers we've been helping other people bring their ideas to life.

I'm Amy. I'm an artist first. Coaching and branding came later, but they've all ended up being about the same thing really... helping people see the value in what they've made. Whether that's a painting, a business or an idea they've been sitting on for years.

Dan is a creative too - when we met he was a songwriter and musician. He's also spent more than 25 years designing brands and digital experiences. If you ask him what he enjoys most though, it definitely isn't sitting behind a computer. It's bringing old things back to life. Give him a forgotten vending machine, a vintage car, or virtually any creative project and he'll happily disappear into the studio for a weekend.

Between us, we've worked with hundreds of small businesses, creative founders and independent makers.

Why We Started

We kept noticing the same thing. There was no shortage of talent, but there was a shortage of opportunities to be discovered.

Brilliant artists were pouring their hearts into their work, while hoping an Instagram algorithm was having a good day. We wanted to change that, so we built Supamatic.

Our mission is simple: to bring joy by putting art in people's pockets.

The Journey So Far:

It started as a tiny concept store in Paignton.

Not because we'd always dreamed of opening a shop, but because we wanted to create a place where independent creativity wasn't hidden away on the bottom shelf.
Where people popped in for a birthday card... and somehow left with sushi socks, a print, three stickers, and a new favourite illustrator

Very quickly we realised something, the shop wasn't the destination, it was the prototype.

It proved that people genuinely wanted to discover independent artists in a more relaxed, playful and accessible way, so we started asking ourselves a different question.

What if Buying Art Was as Easy as Buying a Chocolate Bar?

That question led us to an old vending machine. Well... several old vending machines.

Dan spent weeks bringing the first one back to life. I'm fairly sure he spoke to it more than he spoke to me. Instead of snacks, it became a tiny gallery.

Today, every Supamatic machine is rescued, restored and wrapped in original artwork before being filled with prints, ceramics, jewellery, zines, badges, stickers and beautifully made things from independent artists and creatives.

With support from Innovate UK and Creative UK, we've built a growing network of creative vending machines in universities, theatres and arts venues across the South West.

YES!

We work alongside more than 100 artists, helping their work reach new audiences.

Work that makes us feel alive

Looking back, it all makes perfect sense.

Dan has always rescued, rebuilt and restored forgotten things.

I've always loved helping people see what they're capable of.

Supamatic is simply where those two worlds collided. Somewhere out there is an artist making something incredible. Somewhere else is someone who would absolutely love it.

We're just building fun ways for those two people to find each other.

Whether you're an artist looking for a new audience, a venue wanting to surprise your visitors, or someone who simply loves discovering beautiful things in unexpected places...

Welcome to Supamatic you fabulous SupaStar!

Amy xx

CREATIVE VENDING

Joy, on the go

We repurpose vending machines into curated, design-led retail experiences.

Inside each machine you'll find a rotating mix of products by local independent artists and makers.

We have art vending machines across South West England.

Supamatic Vending

How it works:

  • We curate each machine for the location it lives in
  • Artists are paid fairly
  • Regular restocks so there’s always something new
