About the Artist
A little bit about Matt Nott
I’m really into turning plastic waste into something new and interesting. Where most people see rubbish, I see potential. One Blue Eye was born from that.I like the idea that materials don’t have to be single-use, that with a bit of creativity, they can be reshaped into something useful, or even beautiful.A lot of what I do comes from experimentation - cutting, melting, reshaping, and just seeing what happens. Mistakes are welcomed as they can just be recycled! It’s a hands-on process, and that’s part of what makes it exciting. Every piece ends up a little different, with its own character and story behind it.I’m not trying to be overly complicated about it. For me, it’s about making things that feel good to create and that maybe get other people thinking differently about waste. Plastic is everywhere, and instead of ignoring that, I like working with it and finding new ways to give it a second life. For me it’s about keeping things simple: making cool stuff, reducing waste where I can, and hopefully inspiring a few people along the way to see waste differently with One Blue Eye.
